BPS GOES OFFSHORE FOR THE PRODUCTION OF “IMPOSSIBLE REPAIRS

Impossible Repairs” is a fast-paced documentary series that takes viewers behind-the-scenes of the world’s biggest and most complicated machines to explore the dirtiest jobs and the most remarkable missions of the mechanics, engineers and technicians behind it all. The series presented by Mike Grandson is produced by Attraction and distributed internationally by Smithsonian Channel & Canal D.

BPS was the company hired to carry out the local production in Brazil for the shoot at Karpowership vessel that produced electricity in Rio de Janeiro. The team left from Sepetiba port and shot entirely on board.

The BPS team provided all required infra structure for the filming in Brazil, including hiring a Brazilian crew to provide local production support; obtaining the necessary permits for filming in all areas – land, sea and air; renting a helicopter and taking care of dealing with the client’s insurance company to get a helicopter flight for the crew; among other details.

BPS managed to hire the helicopter –  which wasn’t scheduled for the shoot – at the last minute, so that the Director of Photography could take aerial images, as he didn’t want drones.  So, BPS moved as fast as they could to make it happen – and it all worked out!
